ARTISANAL DISCIPLINES
At LePatron, craftsmanship is governed by architectural discipline and material integrity rather than industrial expediency. We unite rare European tannery allocations with honest structural execution across every commissioned piece.
I. Saddle Stitching and Dual Construction
Horological Straps & Small Leather Goods: Built with 100% traditional French saddle stitching using twin needles, French pricking irons, and beeswax-coated linen thread. Each stitch interlocks independently, ensuring the seam will never unravel even if a single thread is severed.
Archival Bags & Carry: Tailored according to silhouette engineering: signature editions are available in 100% full traditional saddle stitch; structured daily pieces utilize hybrid construction—dense, high-precision linear machine seaming reinforced with hand-stitched stress anchors, hand-shaped handles, and hand-fitted turn-locks.
II. Edge Architecture and Burnishing
Raw leather edges are never concealed with thick, peelable synthetic plastics. Every perimeter undergoes progressive manual beveling, multiple passes of micro-sanding, deep-penetrating matte edge coating, and hot wax burnishing for lifelong flexibility and moisture resistance.
III. Interior Integrity and Hardware
We strictly reject cheap synthetic fabric linings. Every bag cavity is built with genuine leather interiors individually curated to the design's structural demands—ranging from supple French goatskin and matching full-grain calf leathers to velvety suede and sweat-resistant Haas Zermatt.
All hardware components are precision-machined solid brass or stainless steel, hand-brushed or plated to prevent oxidation and endure decades of daily rotation.
